The Founder and other associates belong to Kollapur mandal who came forward and registered the Vishwa Shanthi Welfare Society (Registration NO.717/2005) along with bye-laws vide District Registrar of Societies, Mahabubnagar district. The society has started the oldage home in September 2005 and since providing food and accommodation to about 25 men and women above the age of 60 years, disabled, homeless and neglected by their families.

At Vishwa Shanthi Welfare Society, the Brahma Kumaris Raja yoga Center of Kollapur conducts yoga and meditation classes to maintain peace, happiness and spirituality among the residents. A part-time doctor and one nurse along with other staff visit the facility and take care of any health problems of older people. The required medicines and supplies are purchased and distributed to the older people. In addition, daily newspaper, monthly spiritual magazine, and other books are provided to the residents.

The Aims and Objects laid down in bye-laws are being followed and our activities of awareness programs are shown in our Annual reports of every year. Our activities are not limited to Kollapur mandal but also have the scope to extend to District level as well. In addition to the oldage home, we conduct awareness programs and distribute notebooks, pencils, slates to the students in remote and interior villages. All the supplies to the Vishwa Shanthi Welfare Society come exclusively from contributions of generous donors as we unfortunately do not receive any State Government or Central Government Grants so far.

The Director of Income Tax (Exemption) has inspected the Vishwa Shanthi Welfare Society anuual records and sanctioned the exemption orders on 12A and 80G in favor of our Society. We have applied for allotment of one and half (1&1/2) acres of government land for the construction of a new building for oldage home and the land file is under process in the Mandal Revenue Office of Kollapur.

OUR VISION

Besides old age home we are also planning to start the following projects with the help from the Government and generous donors.
  • BIGGER FACILITY:We will make all possible efforts to achieve a decent and bigger facility so that we can accommodate and help at least 50 people instead of the current 25 people.
  • ACQUIRE BEDS:Presently the oldage home requires 25 iron cots/beds for the residents. Interested donors may kindly come forward and make any possible donation towards fulfilling this requirement.
  • WATER PURIFICATION SYSTEM: The drinking water supplied to Kollapur Town (Mandal) from Krishna river during rainy season is not filtered properly and the water is contaminated with clay (mud). The oldage home needs a good water purification system to prevent any waterborne diseases and to protect the health of the residents.
  • TRANSPORTATION: Transportation of older people is very difficult in their daily life and hence we plan to acquire a Motor Van/ Steering Auto to transport the old people for treatment and to take them to local picnic places, temples, etc.
  • MEDICAL FACILITIES: The poor people even today lack proper treatment and medical facilities in the interior and remote areas. With the help from Government and donors, we plan start medical camps/facilities and appoint required medical staff and also provide transport facility.
  • WOMEN WELFARE: We are also planning on conducting trainings programs to destitute and distressed orphan women to make their self-living.
  • EDUCATION TO ORPHAN KIDS: We are also planning to start one Residential School for orphan kids with the help of Government funds and donors and help talented kids achieve good education.
  • RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL FOR THE DISABLED: A residential school for disabled children will be a great addition to the Kollapur area which has lot of children that are suffering with mental and physical disability.
