The Founder and other associates belong to Kollapur mandal who came forward and registered the Vishwa Shanthi Welfare Society (Registration NO.717/2005) along with bye-laws vide District Registrar of Societies, Mahabubnagar district. The society has started the oldage home in September 2005 and since providing food and accommodation to about 25 men and women above the age of 60 years, disabled, homeless and neglected by their families.
At Vishwa Shanthi Welfare Society, the Brahma Kumaris Raja yoga Center of Kollapur conducts yoga and meditation classes to maintain peace, happiness and spirituality among the residents. A part-time doctor and one nurse along with other staff visit the facility and take care of any health problems of older people. The required medicines and supplies are purchased and distributed to the older people. In addition, daily newspaper, monthly spiritual magazine, and other books are provided to the residents.
The Aims and Objects laid down in bye-laws are being followed and our activities of awareness programs are shown in our Annual reports of every year. Our activities are not limited to Kollapur mandal but also have the scope to extend to District level as well. In addition to the oldage home, we conduct awareness programs and distribute notebooks, pencils, slates to the students in remote and interior villages. All the supplies to the Vishwa Shanthi Welfare Society come exclusively from contributions of generous donors as we unfortunately do not receive any State Government or Central Government Grants so far.
The Director of Income Tax (Exemption) has inspected the Vishwa Shanthi Welfare Society anuual records and sanctioned the exemption orders on 12A and 80G in favor of our Society. We have applied for allotment of one and half (1&1/2) acres of government land for the construction of a new building for oldage home and the land file is under process in the Mandal Revenue Office of Kollapur.
